How to remove the blogger navigation bar...

I just wanted to pass along this helpful little tip.

I know many bloggers have the Blogger naviation bar at the top of their blogs. And I know many of you, like me, want it to disappear.It takes up valuable space and can be slightly unattractive next to our pretty blog templates.

Unfortunately Blogger does not give you an easy option for removing it. BUT... I found out how to do this, thanks to another blogger posting the info for all of us! So I figured I'd share it with all of you in case you're interested.

Do you have one of those banana hangers in your kitchen? You know, those things that stand up and have a hook from which you are supposed to hang your bananas so they can be all pretty on display? Well if you do, toss it. Really, it's no good.

I was always wondering why my bananas would go brown not long after I brought them home. So one day I left them sitting on the counter and noticed that they actually stayed yellow. I put the banana hanger aside and have continued to leave my bananas laying down and I haven't had brown bananas since! Try it, it works!

Oh and if you still want them to look pretty, try displaying them on a cute platter or in a decorative bowl.

Where in your fridge do you store your milk? Many people store it on the door, but it turns out that the door really isn't cool enough to keep your milk it's freshest. To make your milk last longer, keep it on the one of the interior shelves. I've heard that the upper shelf is usually the coolest, but determine that for yourself by using a thermometer. Save the door shelves for things that don't spoil as easily, such as condiments, etc.

Have little ones in daycare or preschool? Remember to label everyone of their belongings that goes with them. This includes shoes, socks, lunch containers, sippy cups, extra diapers, blankets, etc. I used to work in daycare, so I know first hand how much the teachers appreciate this small gesture. It makes it so much easier to match up misplaced items to their rightful owners.

Want to save more money at the grocery store? Check out CoolSavings for a variety of FREE grocery coupons. Simply click the link, find the coupons you need, and print them out. These coupons are updated every so often, so you will continue to see new ones available. Just be sure that your grocery store takes printable coupons. (All the stores near me do!)

Before running your dishwasher, turn the hot water on in your kitchen sink and let it run till it's as hot as it gets. This gets the hot water ready and available for your dishwasher and allows it to clean your dishes better. I use this opportunity to clean my sink since it's empty and so that I'm not just wasting the running water.

Doing some online shopping and don't have a coupon code handy? It's easy to find coupon codes to many online stores with just some slight detective work. Simply head over to Google and do a search for coupon codes for whichever store you're looking for. Example: If you're shopping at Limited Too, go to Google and type in: limited too coupon codes. Click through a few of the sites listed and you will find a code for 20% off your order. It's that easy.

If you're like me, you may find yourself reading tons of useful information in magazines, tearing out the article, and promptly losing it in a pile of papers. Organizing Junkie has found a great way to organize all those articles in one convenient place. I've adapted her idea slightly and I am using a 3-ring binder for my magazine articles. Now that I'll have a place for them, I'll actually be able to find them and refer back to information that I need.

Get your feet ready for all those summer sandals. Before going to bed, lather your feet in lotion then slip some socks on. In the morning your feet will be moisturized and much smoother. Lotions made with aloe, vitamin E, and olive oil work especially well.

This tip is for all those with little ones to feed. Use scissors to cut up finger foods for babies & toddlers. This works great for foods such as pizza, hot dogs, pasta noodles, sandwiches, etc. This will keep your hands and baby's food cleaner than if you used your hands to break them up. It's also much faster than using a knife. Just make sure you mark these scissors only to be used for food items.

Save money by purchasing many items in bulk. This is a great option if you have space to store bulk products and can help you start to stockpile. My favorite things to buy in bulk are the big refill bottles of liquid hand soap and Shout stain remover. All you have to do is refill the smaller bottle that you already have. Saves money and as a bonus, saves the environment because you are no longer purchasing so many individual bottles. Next time you are shopping, take a look to see what else you can save money on by purchasing in bulk.

This week's tip comes straight from my heart, as I share with you my most favorite product. Resolve carpet cleaner. It easily cleans up sooo many types of stains. I use it on my carpet regularly and many times I even use it on my sofa. I use the kind that you don't need to vacuum up. Just spray it on, wait a minute, then scrub it off. Resolve really does work wonders.

Say good bye to the little washing machine monster that eats one sock from each pair! Use small mesh laundry bags to hold socks (especially little baby ones) while they go through the wash and dryer. Simply keep the bag with your hamper and put socks in it as you take them off. No more lost socks! (Hint: Bags with a zipper are a must!)

Save the packages that curtains and bedding are sold in. Many times these are plastic reusable packages with snaps on them. Use these to store hand towels, sheets, small blankets... anything that isn't used very often. This way they are neat and orderly in your closet, they take up less space, and they won't get dusty.
