October/November Credit Card Debt Recap

I am long overdue to post a recap of our debt payoff journey. So this one will cover both October and November.

Recall that we started the year with $13,402.24 of debt on two major credit cards, plus some more on store cards.  The store cards were paid off and then we went to work on these two major cards.

Through frugal tactics and cutbacks, an increase in income, transfers to new 0% interest cards and sheer determination, we've managed to pay off over $10,000 in credit card debt this year!

At the beginning of October, our credit card totals looked like this:

Chase 1 - $0
Chase 2 - $0
CitiCard1 - $900
CitiCard2 - $3,830.00
Total - $4,730.00

And then at the end of November, our totals looked like this:

Chase 1 - $0
Chase 2 - $0
CitiCard1 - $0
Citicard2 - $3,700.00
Total - $3,700.00

In the months of October and November, we paid off $1,030 in credit card debt!

I'm so super excited that we managed to knock out another credit card.  For the next two months, I expect that our debt payoff will slow down considerably.  With Christmas coming, we had been focusing on purchasing gifts so most of our extra money has been going to that.

Also, we finally had to replace our bathroom floor, which had been falling apart since we moved in here 6.5 years ago.  And now we're replacing the flooring in our spare bedroom, which desperately needed it after my brother in law recently moved out.  So we've run up a tab on our Lowe's credit card now. Ughh.  But atleast it's 0% interest and we have a plan in place and will pay it off before it incurs any interest.

So anyway, all this to say that our debt payoff will slow down a bit for the next month or two, but will pick back up full-speed afterwards.  Oh, and I also wanted to say thank you so much for all of your kind words of congratulations and encouragement.  It's a great motivator!
