I love that my kids are growing up (they are 3 and 1.5) and can eat whatever we eat now. I'm sooooo glad to be done with the nursing and the bottles and the baby cereals and whatnot.

But.... I'm not so much in love with the cost of taking them out to dinner. Considering kid's meals are atleast $5.99 or so, it can get pricey.

Luckily my kids are little and don't eat as much and the restraunts' portion sizes are large. Oh and they share some of Mommy & Daddy's meals. So right now we still get away with buying one kid's meal and they split it.

The other day I posted about how I test products for various companies. I get to try out new stuff, give my opinion, keep the stuff, and often, I also get paid for my time.

What was in my mailbox yesterday?

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE survey sites??? Well, I do. And my mailbox continues to remind me why.

In yesterday's mail I received a check for a whopping $51.75!!! Yay! The check was from Global Test Market, a site that I've been working with for awhile now.

This is the first time that I've cashed out with this survey company. And this took quite some time to get to this point. First reason is because for some reason it accidentally got on my blocked email list so I wasn't getting the survey invites.

I don't know how this happened since I had been receiving their emails for awhile and then all of a sudden I wasn't. And of course, I didn't even notice. Many months went by and I suddenly realized and corrected the issue.

Anyway, I got back on track with regularly taking their surveys and earning points. That's when I realized I couldn't cash out until I reached 1,000 points. Considering you usually get from 5-50 points per survey, this takes awhile.

BUT... when you do cash out, the points are worth $0.05 each.... so the 1,000 points is $50.00!!! And once you reach that, you can cash out at any time. So yay, I finally got my check! And I look forward to completing more surveys for them in the future.

How to become a product tester...

Lately I've been busy testing tons of products for various companies. And I LOVE it.

I love trying new products, whether they are beauty products or cleaners or toys. I like that I can voice my opinion and have some influence over them.

And of course, I love that I get to keep almost everything that I test! Oh, and I'm usually compensated for my time as well.

Would you like to start testing products too?

A great place to get started is with survey companies. Many of the offers I receive for testing products come through the various survey companies that I belong to.

Usually I do a survey for a product and if I'm chosen, they send me the product to try out for a week or so. Then I'll be sent a second, longer survey that asks me specific questions about the product and my satisfaction with it.

Most times I get to keep the product afterwards. So far, there's just been one time that I had to send the remainder of a product back when the testing was complete.

I usually receive compensation for each product testing as well.... about $2-$10 or so... except the one I'm currently working on will be $35!
