Switching to natural cleaners...

Over the past two years I've been making simple changes here and there to make the world we live in just a little bit better. And it feels good.

It all started with switching from paper towels to washcloths to clean my daughter's face. Then that lead me on the path to cloth napkins, cloth cleaning rags, rarely using paper plates or disposable plastic cups, CFLs, buying less plastic, buying less stuff in general, wasting less, recycling much more, and buying more earth-friendly products.

Now I'm on to using more natural, or green, cleaners. I'd rather not be cleaning my house with toxic chemicals. They are no fun to breathe in and I certainly don't want my little ones (2yrs & 6mths) getting any on their hands while they play. Cause we all know where babies' and toddlers' hands always end up.

So anyway, I've been trying to use up some of the regular cleaners that I had. I didn't want to just toss them out and waste them. So I've been using them little by little in areas of my house that wouldn't affect my kids.

I ordered some Method brand earth-friendly cleaners. I got cleaning wipes, window cleaner w/ a reusable cleaning rag, hand soap, and a multi-purpose cleaner. I've only gotten to use a few of them but I looove them. They work great, they have nice natural scents, and they aren't noxious like all those chemical cleaners. I especially like the cleaning wipes that are made from bamboo... a completely renewable resource!

Why did I choose Method brand? No, they weren't given to me free... and no, I'm not getting paid to tell you about them. I happened to see them on QVC or HSN... one of those shopping shows on TV. And they were going through each product and testing them out and showing how well they worked. And of course they talked about how much better they were for the environment than traditional cleaners. I was hooked and after trying them myself, I'm still hooked.

Wanna try them out yourself? You can find them at Target... I think I even got some there on clearance awhile back. Another place to look for them is at Drugstore.com. That darn site has everything. I've ordered everything from contact lenses to baby toys from there.

Anyway, if you're shopping around their site, you'll notice that almost all of their green cleaners, including the Method brand, are on sale right now. New customers will receive $5 off $30 or $10 off $50 on their first non-prescription order! That offer's available till the end of August. Oh, and new customers also get free shipping on non-prescription orders of $25 or more.

Another perk? Like the good deals, discount and saving the earth aren't enough. They also give you 5% back towards you're next purchase!
