Free Summer Fun

Looking for some cheap or free things to do this summer? Me too. Now that my daughter is 2 and old enough to really start taking part in activities and outings, we're looking to get out and do more.

But we don't really want to break the bank with each and every outing. Especially when we never really know how it will go with a 4 1/2 month old and a spirited (aka... wild) 2 year old.

One of my favorite free summer activities is going to the beach. All it costs is the gas (you know, like $500 these days) to get there. The beach offers up so much free fun... swimming, great scenery, building sand castles, digging, burying, collecting shells, looking for washed up treasures, ball playing, drawing in the sand, and taking walks.

Last weekend we took our first trip of the summer to the beach. Got a few pics. That's another thing.... the beach provides a great place for pics. Great, all natural background, nice lighting, and the kids can play while you shoot pics.

Oh, I wish I could say the beach is free for us! It really would cost $500 in gas for us to get there! (I'm a horrible estimator, by the way). Plus hotels and food... I'm sure it'd be $500. At least.

Enjoy it for me!

We're heading to the beach this weekend. I am so looking forward to it even though most of the trip won't be free since we will be going from Dayton, OH to Myrtle Beach, SC!
