Sewing? What's that?

I'm not much of a sewer... ok truthfully, I cringe when a button falls off and I know I'll have to sew it back on. Then I'll procrastinate so long that most likely the button will be lost before I have the will to sew it back on.

For those of you that love to sew, or atleast if you don't despise it, you're gonna love this. And even if you don't sew, stick around and check this out... it's sure to amaze and inspire you.

Anyway, the other day I was browsing around and looking for new blogs to read, and I happened upon the blog of betz white... felted wool artfully stitched. That's where I found this amazing project that allowed her son's favorite, but outgrown halloween shirt to grow 2 sizes larger! It turned out great, the finished product looks like it was originally made that way and he can now get much more use out of it.

You have to check it out. She even has great directions and pics of each step if you want to try it yourself.

OMgosh, what a great idea! I don't have little boys (in fact, my 3rd son is 21 years old today), but they do have problems with shirts shrinking. James, my birthday boy, likes his shirts long. I'm going to see if I can try this sewing idea to salvage some of his shirts!
